Presenting the reclaimed and aged Austrian 🇦🇹 Baltic Pine Shelf set (that's right, Austrian, not Australian!)
Wondering what the story is behind this beautiful timber?
I'm Super happy to have sourced these Reclaimed and aged Austrian Baltic Pine boards from a wood collector who salvaged them from an old home in Hamilton Hill.
The Baltic Pine made it over to Western Australia just after World War ll for hundreds of kit style homes around Perth.
The well aged timber when milled back to life shows the light honey colour and oxidation that only comes into play when this type of timber ages over at least 60 years. To think this tree was only a sapling in the 1800s.
Thrilled to be working with this material and the fine smell that comes through that alpine scent from Austria I can never tire of. You can see part of this process documented on my Instagram page:

Each piece is individually milled and with this style of shelf, I have sanded to edge to show both the aged characteristics and fresh grain coming through.
Sanded smooth and sealed with water based sealer.
At 27cm in depth, this is a great size for books and dinnerware.

This shelf is made to order - please note that the knots, grain and edge will differ from the picture.

Ready to mount. Very sturdy and excellent quality Italian Made Hardware included.
Can be installed onto Masonary/Bricks and Gyprock/Drywall (into the timber studs.
Please check that your wall studs are timber, hardware will not drill into Metal wall studs.
Holes in each shelf are 16 inch on centre to match Standard Housing studs.)
If your stud spacing is different, no problems just let me know the spacing and will drill to match.
